Your privacy choices
Effective and last updated:
The controls you have over your information in Fitnesta, and how to use them.
Who can see you
In the app, open Account settings, then Privacy. You can choose to:
- show or hide yourself in discovery;
- be visible only to women;
- hide your exact area;
- hide your age, gender, schedule or activity history;
- hide when you are online and when you were last seen.
Each post also has its own audience — public, connections, followers, or a community — chosen when you post. Progress photos are visible only to you unless you choose to share them with your trainer.
Blocking and reporting
Block someone from their profile or a conversation to stop them contacting you. Review and undo blocks in Account settings under Blocked accounts. Report content or accounts with the Report option; see Support.
Location
Fitnesta asks for your location only while you are using the app. You can allow or deny it, or change your answer later, in your device’s settings. Without it, results near you may be less accurate. Other people never see your exact location.
Notifications
- Choose which notifications you get, by category, in Account settings under Notifications.
- Turn off all push notifications for the app in your device’s settings.
- Notices about your account, such as security and verification messages, cannot be turned off.
Marketing
Marketing is off unless you agreed to it when you signed up. To withdraw that agreement, turn off Marketing in Account settings under Notifications. Withdrawing is as easy as agreeing, and it takes effect straight away.
WhatsApp payment reminders
If a gym or studio sends you payment reminders on WhatsApp through Fitnesta, reply STOP to stop reminders from that business, or STOP ALL to stop all reminders sent through Fitnesta. Reply START or START ALL to receive them again. The business can also turn reminders off for you.
AI features
The AI assistant is used by trainers and businesses, and they choose when to use it. When they do, information about their clients or members can be sent to our AI provider, Anthropic, as the Privacy Policy describes. There is currently no setting in the app for a member or client to opt out. If you do not want your information used this way, tell your trainer or business, or email support@fitnesta.com.
Updating and correcting your information
- Edit your name, photo, bio and other profile details in Settings under Edit profile.
- Change the partners you are looking for under Match preferences.
- Change your email address, phone number or password in Account settings.
- Delete your own posts, body measurements and progress photos from where they appear.
- Records a gym, studio or trainer keeps about you — such as membership details, attendance, assessments or measurements they recorded — can be corrected by them. Ask them first.
Access, copies and other requests
To ask what information we hold about you, for a copy of it, or to correct or erase something you cannot change in the app, email support@fitnesta.com from the email address on your account. We may need to confirm the account is yours, and we will respond in line with applicable law.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account in Account settings, or ask us by email. Deleting your account explains exactly what is removed and what is kept.
Selling and advertising
We do not sell personal information, show third-party advertising, or use advertising trackers, so there is no sale or advertising opt-out to offer. How we share information with service providers is in the Privacy Policy.
